Statutory Declaration

Statutory declarations are commonly used to allow a person to affirm something to be true for the purposes of satisfying a legal requirement or regulation when no other evidence is available.

A statutory declaration can be used to declare or verify the declarant’s:

  • Identity
  • Marital Status
  • Insurance Claims
  • Age
  • Entitlements for sick leave or various other types of benefits

It is illegal to intentionally make a false statement in a statutory declaration.
